Combining computation, information and experiment: formation of polyurethane foams

Principal Investigator:
Dr Jonathan Goodman

The aim of the project is to develop a quantitative model of the competing chemical reactions that formpolyurethane, and to apply this to understanding the properties of the products formed under different conditions. This should lead to a better understanding of the relationship between the properties of the final foam and the procedure used to create it, and so make it possible to design processes to make foams with particular properties more reliably and predictably.
